It’s time for our second spotlight client feature! Last week, we started a new blog feature that will highlight interesting printing projects that our clients have had printed from Publishing Xpress.
This week we have a great non-profit organization called The Peace Operations Training Institute [POTI]. POTI is an online learning environment that provides globally accessible and affordable distance-learning courses on peace support, humanitarian relief, and security operations. Their specialty is in training active peacekeepers, but is also all about serving the entire peacekeeping community.
POTI has printed several perfect bound color textbook printing projects with us. Most of their orders are 300+ pages, so we are talking pretty thick books here. The inside text is printed on 60# uncoated text stock and the cover is always a sturdy 100# gloss cover stock. They also add UV coating to the front of the covers of their color textbook printing, which really helps in making the earth tones on the covers bright and glossy.
We really like this combination of paper for printing perfect bound textbooks/workbooks. It is ideal for such thick books because glue tends to bind much better with uncoated or matte paper stock. Also, uncoated/matte paper is the way to go if you plan on writing on the pages. So overall, this color textbook printing project will be more durable for its purpose.
