Sometimes mainstream fashion magazines are too much to deal with, as in too many ads or too many quizzes and not enough real content. Then there are smaller private magazines that focus on one thing, you and your style. TC Magazine is one of those special publications based out of Minneapolis.
At TC Style, they’re not concerned with predicting trends. Instead they’re interested in how locals are styling those trends on the streets and in their homes. They go out on the streets, into your neighborhoods, into your homes and businesses, into artists’ studios, to concerts and shows, and bring it all to you with in-depth stories, video interviews, and photographs.
From the content to the size and specs of the book, this magazine was a well-designed, easy print order.
Keeping a white background with all the many high-resolution photographs and images gave the magazine a cool blog-to-print feel. Also, having a white background makes for easy cutting without any worries about bleed issues.
Don’t forget, bleeds are EVERYTHING, people! Can never stress that enough.
One more thing to point out in this fashion magazine printing order was the paper stock selected for a small perfect bound magazine such as this. Because it was 5.5 x 8.5 in size, choosing a 70# text stock with an 80# cover stock, gave a stronger bond when perfect bound. Also, because it is a smaller book, a heavier stock would just make it feel bulky and not so easy to flip through.
